This is where I joined this simul game between chess expert Robert North playing White and my new student Garrick Chu. Robert won all five simul games.
You replay the rest of the game here.
Garrick held nicely until 12. ..Bf6? Yes, it exchanges Bishops but it cripples the King side pawns and you see how immobile and useless they became. After 12. ...g5 White is only slightly better.
1. White had extra pawns; unless you have compensation for your sacrificed material, hold on to it
2. White had double bishops which is always an advantage when lines are open for them
3. Black's pawn structure was messed up and it showed in the endgame how weak and immobile doubled pawns are
